WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – Purdue Football disclosed kickoff times for the first four games of the upcoming 2023 season on Wednesday afternoon (May 31), as the Big Ten Conference and its television partners released kickoff times and team designations. network for selected contests.

The reigning Big Ten West champions begin the Ryan Walters era by welcoming West Lafayette to Fresno State (Sept. 2). Kicking off the 100th season at Ross-Ade Stadium, the opener is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network. The Boilermakers will get another noon start when they take their first road trip of the season, traveling to Blacksburg, Virginia to battle Virginia Tech on ESPN2 (Sept. 9).

After the road opening contest, Purdue returns home for consecutive weeks in prime time. The Boilermakers close out the non-conference portion of the show, featuring Syracuse under the lights with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC. Six days later, Purdue faces Wisconsin in the first Friday conference game in Ross-Ade Stadium history (Sept. 22). The conference opener for both teams begins at 7 pm ET on FS1.

In addition to learning the details for the first four games, the Boilermakers also narrowed down potential start times for three additional games. Closing out the month of September, Purdue faces Illinois in the annual Homecoming Game and Battle for the Cannon Trophy (Sept. 30). The matchup against Walters’ former team has kickoff options of 3:30 pm ET, 4 pm ET or 7:30 pm ET, to be announced at a later date.

The Boilermakers are visitors to two other Homecoming games, divisional contests in Iowa (October 7) and in Nebraska (October 28). Purdue’s road game in Iowa is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, 4 p.m. ET, or 7:30 p.m. ET, while the game in Nebraska begins at 12 p.m. ET. Decisions on slots will be made closer to each game day.

Start times for the remainder of Purdue’s games will be selected during the season selection process, either six or 12 days prior to each competition.
