the management of the Chennai super kings offered a special prayer at a Chennai temple on Tuesday as the IPL trophy returned to the South Indian city, a day after the thrilling final in Ahmedabad.
The trophy was presented to Sri Venkateshwara Swami at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) temple in Chennai’s Thyagaraya Nagar. In Ahmedabad, Chennai Super Kings won the IPL for the fifth time.

Chennai Super Kings representatives were observed to bring the IPL 2023 trophy directly from the airport to the city’s famous temple. Although no players or staff were present, a special prayer was offered at the temple.

The IPL trophy is always presented by the CSK at the renowned Chennai TTD temple as part of a tradition. Notably, in 2021, the former head of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) and managing director of India Cements, the owners of the team, N Srinivasan, was there for the special prayer that followed the trophy’s journey to the temple. Srinivasan’s daughter Rupa Gurunath, a former president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, also joined the cricket manager.

CSK players and support staff, including head coach Stephen Fleming, arrived in Chennai the day after the iPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad.

Chennai Super Kings win their fifth IPL trophy after defeating GT in the final:
Chennai Super Kings won the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the fifth time after defeating Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. Devon Conway (47) and Shivam Dube (32*) were the standout players for CSK as they searched for a revised total of 171 from 15 overs. While MS Dhoni hunted for a golden duck, Ravindra Jadeja (15 from 6 balls) kept his cool and won the game in style. Mohit Sharma took three wickets for GT.

Earlier, Sai Sudharsan top-scored with 96, and Wriddhiman Saha added another half-century to help GT to 214/4. CSK’s Matheesha Pathirana claimed two wickets. With this triumph, Dhoni tied Rohit Sharma for the most IPL titles as captain.
