Dodgers Scoring: Live Game Updates & Odds Against Nationals Tuesday, Gonsolin/Irvin, Max Is Back

Your Los Angeles Dodgers look to make it two wins in a row against the Nationals with the Catman on the mound. Tony Gonsolin (2-1, 1.82 ERA) is making his seventh start of the season against a Washington roster that has never had a hit against him (six batters are 0-15 against him). The Nats counterattack with RHP Jake Irvin (1-2, 5.32 ERA) who has never faced Los Angeles in his career.

Here’s a look at the lineup Dave Roberts is fielding against the right-hander.

Max Muncy is back in the lineup after sitting out another day to rest from a hamstring cramp. Will Smith starts before 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, so Austin Barnes catches up with Gonsolin. Mookie Betts moves from shortstop to second base, while Miguel Vargas has the night off.

The outfield looks the same as Monday night with David Peralta, James Outman and Jason Heyward patrolling the lawn. Freddie Freeman looks to extend his franchise record in the month of May in the doubles department.

Tony Gonsolin is 1-1 with a 5.00 ERA against the Nats in his career (2 games, 1 start). He has been a standout in his pitching career at Dodger Stadium, posting a 2.04 ERA in 145.1 innings. Since he came off the disabled list in late April, he’s been the most consistent starter in Los Angeles’ rotation.

Rookie right-hander Jake Irvin will make his first start against the Dodgers tonight. While his overall numbers aren’t great in his first five starts this year, his lone road start he pitched a gem of a 6.1 shutout innings against the Giants in San Francisco.
