As we head back to Morrowind, players will need to know when the Steam unlock and preload begins for the ESO: Necrom chapter.

Following a sinister story that leads to Morrowind, as you investigate a massive conspiracy that has you questioning whether the Prince of Knowledge, Hermaeus Mora, is trustworthy.
With the events of the story unfolding during their stay in Morrowind, players have been wondering when they will be able to start completing the new story content. With that being said, we have detailed when ESO Necrom will be unlocked on PC and if the preload features are available for PC and console.
Elder Scrolls Online Necrom Unlock Time: Countdown to Launch
Shadow Over Morrowind’s next chapter, Necrom, is scheduled for a multi-platform release in June 2023. Its PC release will arrive on Mac and via Steam on June 5, 2023, while the console release will arrive on June 20. of 2023 for PlayStation. 4|5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
It is not clear what the unlock time will be for its release on PC; however, we can determine an approximate time as players will likely start their campaign at 7am PT / 10am ET / 2pm UTC. For the console, the PlayStation Store has listed a time of 11am GMT+2, but not the time listed via the Xbox Store.
Elder Scrolls Online Necrom Preload Dates and Times
As for when Necrom will be available for pre-load, it was previously stated that the game never supported pre-load periods, regardless of its platform releases. Developer ZeniMax Online Studios (ZoS) could make the Necrom patch available to those who have pre-ordered The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Necrom, The Elder Scrolls Online Upgrade: Necrom, or The Elder Scrolls Online Deluxe Collection: Necrom editions.
This patch update might be available a few days before and can jump into the game once installed. No dates or times can be confirmed at the time of writing, but we will update this guide once the relevant information is available.
Elder Scrolls Online Necrom Download File Sizes
As for the download size of the game file, we can already confirm that ESO Necrom will be approximately 95 GB for both its Mac and PC versions, according to the store listing on Steam. According to the game’s listing via the Xbox Store, Necrom is listed with a download size of 127.51 GB; however, its download file size for its PlayStation 4|5 version is not available on the PlayStation Store.
While we await updates on the download size of Necrom for PlayStation, we’ll continue to provide the latest news and developments as we get closer to its console release on June 20, 2023. In the meantime, players can still pre-purchase (PC) or pre-order (console) the game to acquire the various Special Rewards available in the game.
