In addition, retirees must have their 12-digit Pension Payment Order (PPO) number in order to receive their pension.
Consequently, the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPFO) issues the EPS Certificate, a document that contains information on the service history of the member of the Provident Fund.
It displays the employee’s service history, including the number of years served, as well as family and family member information that qualifies for a pension in the event of the employee’s death.
For workers employed in the organized sector, EPFO administers a contributory provident fund, a pension plan, and an insurance plan.
