Potential DC Films Boss Was Involved With George Miller’s Justice League

As Warner Bros. Discovery’s shakeup of DC continues, Dan Lin has emerged as a top contender to lead DC Films, having previously come close to working on an earlier version of League of Justice.

Dan Lin, who runs his own production company Rideback, has served as a producer on several LEGO films released in recent years, as well as Warner Bros.’ Directed by Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes movies and Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin.

Not only is Lin a super fan of DC, but he’s come close to working on a major DC franchise before, when director George Miller had a League of Justice film in process.

Before Zack Snyder started his job at DC Films, George Miller was set to direct. justice league deadly in 2008 and Dan Lin would have served as producer.

During a recent interview with The Ankler, Lin revealed that he was set to produce the first attempt at a live-action film. League of Justice film and would later have gone on to oversee the entire DC franchise. Obviously, things didn’t work out, though Lin did get a chance to touch the DC universe in his work, when he produced the lego batman movie.

Speaking about how he almost oversaw DC’s first attempt at building a cinematic universe, Dan Lin said:

“Honestly, DC was the one that got away. When I started my producing career in 2008, I was producing Justice League Mortal with George Miller directing. I moved my family to Australia, I was going to have a very different life and I was basically going to be overseeing the DC franchise, but that slipped my mind. The reason I wanted to do LEGO Batman is my way of coming back to DC, but in a very different way. If only he could have done the things he wanted to do with DC, it would have been really exciting.”

Now it looks like Dan Lin’s DC aspirations may have a chance to come true. While Walter Hamada still holds the position of president of DC Films, his future with the company is unclear.
