“Leia wore a soft meadow-green dress embroidered with flowers similar to those that adorn the outside of the temple,” Revis writes, according to the audiobook obtained by Yahoo Entertainment. “It hung loosely over her body, but was shapeless. The sides were open, giving her room to move her legs and expose the laces of her white leather boots that reached to her knees. She held a bouquet of tied wildflowers with the same bow woven into her hair, and Han suspected that Leia had picked the flowers just before climbing the stairs to the temple.”

Concept art for the dress was shared exclusively on Monday by Variety.

To prepare, Revis said he watched all three of the original Star Wars movies again.

“I took pages and pages of notes about their dialogue, their mannerisms, the subtle ways they interacted,” Revis, who has written about the franchise before, told in February. “Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are just brilliant actors, and they gave me a lot to work with! I wanted this to be a story where the past was still present, but they were moving into new territory.”

The writer, whose work also plays a role in the new Walt Disney World Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser Attractionhe tested the dialogue between Leia and Han about her husband, because he knew it was crucial to get it absolutely right.

“Arguing is Han and Leia’s love language, after all!” she said. “I can happily blow up ships in space, but finding the right balance between funny and romantic in his dialogue was perhaps the hardest thing in the entire book.”
